Types of Contract Breaches in Los Angeles
Breaches of contract can be material or immaterial.
- Material Breach: occurs when one party breaches an agreement, resulting in monetary or other losses. It is possible to initiate lawsuits for substantial breaches to demand both specific performance and monetary compensation.
- Immaterial Breach: Are also referred to as partial breaches and only allow for the recovery of actual damages. In a lawsuit for an inconsequential violation of contract, no particular performance may be demanded.
Remedies for Breach of Contract
